EXMOUTH gets the chance to honour servicemen and women of all services in the National Armed Forces Day celebrations in June.

The event, organised by the Exmouth Branch of the Royal Marines Association, is being held in the Manor Gardens on June 25 and aims to raise money for service personel.

The day starts at 9am and finishes at 6pm, with civic dignitaries arriving at the War Memorial for 9.45am in preparation for a parade, wreath laying and a service.

At 10.30am, there will be a drill display by Commandos from CTC Lympstone.

Roy Davis of the RM Association said: “The aim is to make the general public aware of The National Armed Forces Day using former service personnel and cadet organisations.

“A parade will take place at the Exmouth War Memorial along with a wide variety of displays, stalls and a raffle in The Manor Gardens.”

All money raised by Service organisations through stalls and events, and the prize draw ,will be donated to individual service charities, although organisers are calling for a small donation for The Royal Marine Benevolent Trust Fund.
