A 21-year-old pregnant nursery nurse from Exmouth narrowly missed being injured by scaffolding when tons of metal and wood props collapsed in a city car park.
Around a dozen cars were damaged when scaffolding, which stretched the length of an industrial unit in Marsh Barton, Exeter, came crashing down.
The Exmouth woman and her partner, who do not want to be named, had been driving past in their blue Peugot 207 when they were forced to swerve to avoid being crushed by falling metal.
The police said the cause of incident was unknown and that enquiries were being made to determine what happened.
