THE police are warning Brixington residents to be aware of opportunist thieves during the warmer weather.

THE police are warning Brixington residents to be aware of opportunist thieves during the warmer weather.

Officers are urging people to keep windows and doors locked and keep valuables out of sight.

PC Dave Evans said: "Leaving doors or windows open is an open invite to thieves. Your home is vulnerable if you pop out or if you are in your garden.

"Ideally keep windows closed unless you are in the room, but please make sure valuables are kept out of sight.
