EXMOUTH town neighbourhood police have been sporting new dark blue epaulets and dark blue ties in line with new uniform changes which come into force from April.
From the April 1 all officers and PCSOs on front line duties will wear black shirts, which will replace the traditional white shirt and black tie.
PC Mat Helm said: "Whilst some may argue that its tradition, it brings in line with the new national police uniform.
"The new stab/ ballistic vests we wear are compulsory and the white cotton shirts are not comfortable underneath.
