Exmouth police back nostalgic campaign

Exmouth police are urging the public to get involved with community policing.
The neighbourhood beat team is helping to drive a Devon and Cornwall police campaign called In Our Lifetimes, looking back at policing over the years.
Officers at Exmouth said the aim of the campaign was to address the ‘disproportionate’ public perception of crime levels and highlight the importance of community-police liaisons.
Exmouth neighbourhood police team leader sergeant Phil Godfrey said: “Neighbourhood policing is a vital part of increasing public engagement, confidence and visibility and solving problems at a local level.
“Our neighbourhood policing teams are actively seeking to involve the public in identifying neighbourhood and policing concerns and to influence how these issues are prioritised and tackled through local meetings.”
Sgt Godfrey said he hoped members of the public would find out who was in their neighbourhood policing team or when their next meeting was by visiting: neighbourhoodpolicing.devon-cornwall.police.uk or calling 08452 777 444.
