A coffee morning held at the Blackmore Theatre raised £185 for the refurbishment of the kitchen and green room.

The Exmouth Players host monthly events with the aim of raising the £10,000 needed for running costs.

Spokesman Trevor Brice said: “It went very well so the total raised is not bad – there was quite a lot going on.

“We do wish to turn around the Blackmore Theatre to make it more user-friendly, and, more importantly, available for the community at large.”

The next coffee morning will be held at the Blackmore Theatre on Saturday, April 11, at 10.30am.

The theatre will also host monthly bingo nights and has organised a murder mystery night at Holy Trinity Church on April 25.
