East Devon District Council's environmental health service and the local animal wardens are running a prize draw competition for dog owners 'caught doing right'.
Exmouth Pets at Home manager Nicky Duckett presented dog owner Tracy Bright with a 50 voucher after she was seen picking up after her 18-month-old Jack Russell terrier, Zacky, during a walk in Honiton.
Councillor Jill Elson, an Exmouth resident who has responsibility for the team operating the award scheme, said: "We believe this scheme has a very positive impact on the problem of dog fouling, which still remains a major public concern.
"I am delighted that Tracy has won the voucher kindly donated by Pets at Home and I hope others will follow her excellent example.
