Exmouth Mayor Brian Cole tells councillors town will miss communiy college princpal Tony Alexander, who is stepping down after more than 15 years.

Mayor Brian Cole has paid tribute to outgoing Exmouth Community College principal Tony Alexander.

At a meeting last week, Councillor Cole told members that the town would miss Mr Alexander, who is retiring after more than 15 years in the role. He was presented with a town plaque.

Cllr Cole said of Mr Alexander: “He has, over the years, built up the establishment’s reputation in the field of education and has achieved his objective for the college to become outstanding.

“At every opportunity, Tony makes it his business to congratulate pupils on their achievements.

“Pupils are encouraged to display exemplary behaviour at all times, both by staff and their fellow pupils. I’ve been genuinely amazed at the standards achieved by the pupils at this college. None of this would have been achieved were it not for the enthusiasm, encouragement of Tony Alexander.”
