EXMOUTH'S RNLI is inviting the public to take a look around its all-weather lifeboat as part of the station's open day.Large crowds are hoped for to raise funds for the RNLI when the Margaret Jean will be stationed in Exmouth's docks from 11.30am until 3.30pm, on Saturday, August 23. The inshore lifeboat, the George Bearman, will also be in dock.Exmouth's volunteer lifeboat crew, which will be on hand to answer any questions the public might have, will team up with the RNLI lifeguards who patrol Exmouth beach.The two crews will take part in a rescue exercise to demonstrate the charity's services.The Exmouth RNLI Fundraising Guild will have stalls across the road from the ILB station to help raise funds.Kevin Reilly, Exmouth RNLI operations manager, said: "RNLI lifeboat day is a fun, action- packed day out for all the family. It is a chance to meet the volunteer crew and lifeguards, to see what they do, and to learn some essential beach and sea safety messages, as well as visiting some of the exciting fundraising stalls.
