A PARADE-based language school is the first and only in Exmouth to achieve accreditation.

Mountlands, run by Deborah and Ella Tyler, now has the official blessing of the British Council –mark of quality recognised by students all over the world – for its English language programmes.

The school was inspected in August 2010 as part of a quality assurance scheme run by British Council and English UK.

Deborah Tyler, Director at Mountlands Language School, said: “Mountlands staff have worked extremely hard since we took over the school 6 years ago to ensure quality of English language provision. This is recognition of the great team effort of everyone involved.”

She added: “I was especially pleased that the British Council report praised the Mountlands host family provision in Exmouth. We have worked hard over the years to build up good relationships with the best host families in town, and it has paid off.”

The school is holding an Open Day on Saturday January 15 from 2-4pm at 47a the Parade, Exmouth (above Oxfam).

Director Ella Tyler said: “This is an opportunity for our regular families to drop in for a drink and some nibbles see our school and how it works, and meet with some of the Mountlands team. Any new host families are also welcome to pop in to pick up an application form.”
