Children in Moldava will be receiving gifts from Exmouth this Christmas.
An Exmouth group have been hard at work raising money and buying toys to make sure children in Eastern Europe can enjoy Christmas.
The Exmouth Knit and Chat group have created shoeboxes full of goodies to send to children in Moldova.
This year the group sent 15 shoe boxes, for boys, girls, families and they didn’t forget the Grandmas who apparently like thermal socks.
Many Moldavians’ are unable to afford to buy Christmas presents and so these boxes are a welcome addition to a cold festive season.
Exmouth Knit and Chat group, part of the Volunteering Matters charity, was set up nine years ago.
The group has sent thousands of knitted items to regional, national and international charities over the years using wool donated by Exmouth residents.
Aimed at those over 50 years old, the group meets every Thursday at the community centre.
Anyone wanting to donate wool to the group should ring Sandra on 01395 273692.
