EXMOUTH in Bloom has announced Pat Graham was unanimously voted in again as the chairman of the group.

The vote to keep Mrs Graham in the chairman's seat was held at the group's recent AGM.

Now members are keen to hear from new volunteers willing to lend a helping hand tending the town's blooms.

Mrs Graham said the town would continue with its green-fingered efforts and refused to be thwarted by any district council cost-cutting.

She said: "As always last year was another busy year for us with our efforts rewarded by winning gold and the St. Bridget Cup in the South West in Bloom competition.

"I would like to thank the committee for all their hard work, members of East Devon District Council's Street Scene who maintain our parks and gardens in the town to perfection, to the business who have so kindly given us sponsorship and support and to the many other groups and individuals who have supported our efforts to make Exmouth a town we have all been justifiably proud of.

"We are all unsure of what the future holds for us as there are almost certainly changes on the way due to budget constraints being imposed not just in Exmouth but across the district in general however as a small voluntary group we will continue to do our utmost to ensure that the areas we are responsible for continue to look their best."
