The Exmouth in Bloom group has marked the launch of its annual friends’ scheme with a presentation of a lifetime membership to its 100th member David Brock.

David, who had a business in Exmouth for more than 25 years, has been a keen supporter and volunteer of Exmouth in Bloom since the mid-1970s and became a ‘friend’ right from the beginning of the scheme in 2011.

He said he loves receiving newsletters three times a year, updating him on what the group has been up to, and ‘appreciates the work that volunteers do to make the town look so colourful’.

David also said the flower displays during lockdown have been a ‘joy to behold’.

People can become a friend of Exmouth in Bloom for a minimum donation of £5 a year by visiting www.exmouthinbloom.org.uk or from Kings Garden Centre and Leisure, Porky Downs, Birds and Bees, the tourist information centre or Exmouth Library.
