An awards ceremony was held in Manor Gardens on May 22 for prize winners in the Exmouth in Bloom Annual Art Competition for Rainbows and Brownies and also The Mayor’s Art Competition.
The theme this year was to illustrate life in lockdown.
Exmouth mayor Steve Gazzard, assisted by Exmouth in Bloom’s chairman Gerry Bassett, presented certificates and prizes to 16 children aged between six and 14, in front of their families, who were fortunately able to watch as it was in an outdoor venue.
Presentations started with the 2020 competition awards, which had been postponed from last year due to Covid restrictions.
Congratulations were offered to all the participants and especially to Elspeth Snook, Connie Mewse and Charlotte Helman, whose original entries will be submitted for judging by Lady Emma Fellowes in the South West in Bloom competition. Organisers wish them good luck.
It is hoped to hold a public exhibition of all the entries later in the year.
