The event at Exmouth House gave visitors the chance to handle tarantulas, snakes, lizards, stick insects, and other animals from Animal HQ.

There were also several other stalls, and the chance to enjoy tea and cake, and as selection of food from a barbecue.

The event raised £400 for the home’s residents’ fund.

Home manager Ingrid West said: “It went really well. We were really pleased.

“We had a good turnout and the residents really enjoyed it.”
