Gardeners from the Exmouth area are among those who have had their skills recognised by East Devon District Council (EDDC).

The council recently gave out the prizes in its annual East Devon Tenants Gardening Competition.

The competition was judged by horticulturalist Kieron Bewes, using a Royal Horticultural Society method, and sponsored by Otter Nurseries, Kings Garden Centre, Keiron Bewes, MD Group, Skinner Construction, Thistle Insurance Group, St Bridget Nurseries, and EDDC’s tenant participation team.

Councillor Pauline Stott, chairman of EDDC’s housing review board, said: “We are very lucky as a council to have tenants that take such great pride in their gardens to give the estates such a lovely array of flowers. Every year they seem to get better with amazing displays and with more and more tenants entering. Our grateful thanks to all who took part in this year’s competition.”
