A CHARITABLE garage owner donated a signed Exeter Chiefs rugby shirt which was auctioned off at an event in aid of Exmouth and Lympstone Hospiscare.

John Bentley, of Bentley’s Garage, in High Street, offered the shirt which was sold off at an auction held at the Bradley’s and local hospiscare group’s golf day.

The charity was founded in 1987 to provide support for people with life-threatening illnesses.

“The chairman of the Exmouth and Lympstone Hospiscare is a good customer of ours and asked if there was anything we could do for them,” said Mr Bentley.

“I’m a season ticket holder at Exeter Chiefs and also coach their under-10 side, so it was quite easy for me to get a signed shirt of the senior team’s players.”
