An Exmouth friends group raised more than £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support by taking part in the charity’s World’s Biggest Coffee morning.

Exmouth-based FriendsUK recently raised £1,200 hosting a morning of fun activities at the Devoncourt Hotel.

The coffee morning was attended by Exmouth mayor Councillor Jeff Trail, and included a prize draw, bring-and-buy and cake stalls, plus the grand duck race.

David Gray, organiser, and FriendsUK spokesman, said: “May I take this opportunity to thank all who were involved in our recent Macmillan Coffee Morning at the Devoncourt Hotel, Exmouth.

“A special thanks to stall holders, raffle and duck ticket sellers and cake bakers.

“Also, of course, a big thank you to all who supplied beautiful hampers and other items for our raffle.”

He added: “Many thanks to the management of the Devoncourt Hotel for allowing us to use the sun lounge, bar and swimming pool and their cash donation.”
