EXMOUTH in Bloom and the RNLI will on Saturday name the small boats along Marine Way which hold the town's annual floral displays.

Some seven boats will be named after lifeboats which all had females names - Marie Noble, Carolyn Finch, Gertrude, Victoria, Margaret Jean and Catherine Harriet Eaton

A Britain in Bloom spokeswoman said: "The idea to name the flotilla of boats along Marine Way came from a member of Exmouth Bloom committee as a mark of respect to Exmouth's long standing and proud tradition of saving lives at sea.
