An award-winning Exmouth fish and chip shop has reopened its doors this week after refurbishment work.

Krispies, in Exeter Road, has been closed for three weeks while work to give the shop a facelift was carried out.

All of Krispies’ branding has also been updated with its logo now incorporating an outline of Exmouth seafront.

Krispies’ owner Kelly Barnes, 37, is pleased with the refurbishment and is looking forward to serving her award winning fish and chips, she said: “The great thing about the refit is we’ve used as many local tradesmen as possible, even the wood used was reclaimed locally.

“The whole refit process went incredibly well and we were lucky as our local builder was amazing and had the same attention to detail as we do. We wanted a restaurant type feel for the shop, we made it alot easier to eat in now.

“I’m so glad to be back in business and am looking forward to customers seeing the food is just as tasty as it ever was.”

The refit includes two separate fryers for battered and non-battered chips, a simpler queuing system, new grilled fish options, salads and new floors inside the shop and tarmac outside.
