Exmouth firefighters work through the night to tackle Uffculme barn fire

MONDAY, OCTOBER 13 - FIREFIGHTERS from Exmouth spent Saturday night tackling a barn fire at Uffculme, near Cullompton.

Eight fire crews from Devon and Somerset were at 10.15pm called to Silverlands Farm where they worked through the night to prevent a barn fire from spreading to the nearby dairy.

The fire crews used specialist firefighting foam to cover nearby buildings to stop the spread of the fire, which raged through a barn filled with straw and farm machinery.

Fire crews were in attendance until shortly before midnight on Sunday dampening down the area.
