RESCUE equipment from Exmouth fire station was on Thursday lunchtime sent to the A30 Okehampton dual carriageway after a Landrover and trailer rolled over.

When firefighters from Exmouth, Okehampton, Hatherleigh and North Tawton arrived at the westbound carriageway between Sourton and Stowford Cross, they found the Landrover driver was already out of his vehicle.

The man suffered from a graze and cuts to his right arm and was checked at the scene by paramedics.

The vehicle had been towing a trailer carrying a light commercial van which had hit the central reservation - and all three vehicles turned over.

Fire crews cleared the road, righted the vehicles before pushing them onto the hard shoulder and nearby lay-by.

Firefighters made the Landrover safe by disconnecting the battery using small tools.

The incident was left in the hands of the police ad Highways Agency
