Firefighters from Exmouth were called to Phear Park in the early hours of Tuesday morning following reports a tree was on fire.
When the crew arrived at the park shortly before 1am they found a large tree alight in the middle of the park.
The firefighters used a hose reel, a hydraulic spreader, short extension ladder and small tools to help extinguish the flames.
