FIREFIGHTERS from Exmouth were called to Eurotech on Monday morning after a small fire broke out in the production line machinery.
The crews arrived at the Salterton Road plant shortly before 10.30am, following reports a smoke alarm was sounding.
When the firefighters arrived they found a fire had broken out in the machinery, and involved molten solder.
The firefighters wore breathing apparatus and began tackling the flames with a fire extinguisher.
A fire brigade spokesperson said: "Steady progress was being made using on-site firefighting medium and breathing apparatus increased to four.
"One hose reel and a thermal imaging camera was in use.
