FIREFIGHTERS came to the aid of a trapped herring gull in Exmouth yesterday.
A crew raced to the Magnolia Centre in Chapel Street at around 4.45pm.
A Devon and Somerset Fire Service spokesperson said: "At the request of the RSPCA one fire appliance from Exmouth attended a property in the Magnolia Centre where a herring gull had its head stuck in a grate on the roof. The fire crew removed the gull from the roof using a ladder and handed it over to the RSPCA.
