A one-year-old child accidentally locked in a bedroom at a home in Brixington was rescued by Exmouth firefighters on Monday evening.
The firefighters arrived at the Hawthorn Grove home shortly after 8.30pm on where they released the trapped child.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “One appliance from Exmouth, with crew commander Passmore as officer in charge, was called to a one-year-old child accidently locked in first floor bedroom.
“The child was released using small tools.”
