EXMOUTH firefighters on Wednesday helped an elderly man to safety after his car was involved in a collision at the junction of Morven Drive and Exeter Road

EXMOUTH firefighters last week helped an elderly man to safety after his car was involved in a collision at the junction of Morven Drive and Exeter Road.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "It was confirmed that his was a road traffic collision involving one private car on the public highway and the fire crews assisted one elderly male from the vehicle using small tools and specialist stabalising equipment.
