AN elderly woman trapped in a car involved in a collision was on Saturday evening given oxygen by Exmouth firefighters after she was found to be in shock.

AN elderly woman trapped in a car involved in a collision was on Saturday evening given oxygen by Exmouth firefighters after she was found to be in shock.

Fire crews were called to Burnside shortly after 9pm when a woman contacted the fire service after receiving a call from her father saying her elderly grandmother was trapped in the car after the pair was involved in a collision.

The caller's father had driven the vehicle home but the elderly woman was unable to get out of the car.

When the fire crews arrived they found the pensioner was trapped and suffering from shock.

She was released using small tools and given oxygen until an ambulance arrived.
