Exmouth firefighters cut free seriously-injured man

RESCUE equipment from Exmouth fire station was used to cut free a seriously-injured man following a head-on collision involving two vehicles on the old A20 Rockbeare straight.

RESCUE equipment from Exmouth fire station was used to cut free a seriously-injured man following a head-on collision involving two vehicles on the old A20 Rockbeare straight.

Firefighters from Exmouth, Ottery St Mary and Exeter on Saturday afternoon used three sets of cutting equipment to free the man who was severely trapped.

The casualty was given oxygen throughout the rescue mission before he was taken to hospital by air ambulance.

Two other casualties were taken to hospital by ambulance.

The police were also at the scene.
