Exmouth firefighters called to Sidmouth car crash

RESCUE equipment from Exmouth fire station was on Thursday evening taken to a two-car collision on the Sidmouth Road.

RESCUE equipment from Exmouth fire station was on Thursday evening taken to a two-car collision on the Sidmouth Road.

Fire crews from Exmouth, Ottery St Mary and Sidmouth were called to the Aylesbeare road outside the Halfway Inn shortly after 6pm after it was thought a person was trapped in one of the vehicles.

When the crews arrived they found no one was trapped.

One of the cars was smoking heavily so the firefighters made the vehicle safe using a hose reel.

One casualty was treated at the scene by paramedics.
