AN Exmouth firefighter and heart patient is joining forces with score of people across the country to highlight the work of the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

Dave Morley, 41, was diagnosed with coronary heart disease three years ago and had a stent fitted to treat a blocked coronary artery.

Next week Dave and the rest of his watch will on February 26 take part in National Wear Red Day.

The day is just one of many fundraising events in the BHF's month-long Red for Heart campaign, which runs throughout National Heart Month.

British Heart Foundation volunteer Dave said he was 'overwhelmed' with the support he received from other Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Services colleagues.

Dave said: "I've had a terrific response, not only from the lads on my watch, but from people everywhere.

"The British Heart Foundation does a great job, so I'm always happy to do whatever I can to help."
