Fire crews were called out yesterday evening (Wednesday) to rescue people stuck in a lift in Exmouth.

One fire appliance from Exmouth Fire Station attended the incident in Morton Crescent at 6.57pm.

On arrival, firefighters confirmed there were five people in the lift, and used small tools, a ladder and other fire service equipment to release them.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said duty of care was left with on-site staff.
