Exmouth fire crew rescues cows stuck in water at Ottery

Fire crews came to the rescue of some cows stuck in the water at Ottery this morning.

Fire crews came to the rescue of cows stuck in water at Ottery St Mary this morning.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service sent a crew from Ottery St Mary and a Water Rescue unit from Exmouth, after being called to deal with cattle stuck in the water at Cadhay Bridge, on Tuesday morning at 8.40am.

On arrival at the scene the crew found three cows stranded on an island in the river.

The animals were not in any distress, according to the report.

Crews assisted the farmer with the removal of the cattle to his farm.
