Exmouth taxi firm owners Nic and Tony Quinn raised thousands for Cancer Research UK with a sponsored walk
Nic and Tony Quinn, owners of Direct Taxis, held the event for the second year running – raising around 3,000 for the cancer charity.
The couple, who last year raised more than 5,000, held a sponsored fancy dress walk along the sea front from the Beach Hotel to Orcombe Point and back, and also a darts tournament with live music.
Mr and Mrs Quinn chose the charity because both have been affected by cancer, and also have friends who have been victims of the disease – Mrs Quinn lost her father to the illness.
Once the final total has been collected, the funds raised will help pay for local clinical trials taking place at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital and Derriford Hospital, in Plymouth.
