The National Trust’s project will see the construction of a one-kilometre hard-surfaced multi-use path.

It will cross land the trust owns at Lower Halsdon Farm to link up with the A376 near Rivermead Avenue.

David Ford, the National Trust’s general manager for East Devon countryside, said: “We are really excited about opening up public access across Lower Halsdon Farm and the surrounding countryside.

“The path has been carefully planned to allow people easier access to the countryside within the setting of the beautiful Exe Estuary and a working farm.”
