An evening of music at Exmouth Community College has raised vital funds for the school’s music department.

The Rotary Club of Exmouth Raleigh held their 14th annual charity concert featuring students from the college and town primary schools.

The audience was treated to an evening of ‘tremendous talent’ from the pupils with performances from the junior and senior choirs, and the college’s folk group. There were also some solos.

The evening also included a taster scene from Exmouth Community College’s music and drama department’s production Les Miserables being performed through this month.

The event raised more than of £1,000, which will be used for extra-curricular activities by the music department.

A donation to the rotary club president’s main charity – the Exeter Leukemia Fund – was also made.

A spokesperson for the club said: “(It was) a great evening of much pride and pleasure to both audience and students alike.”
