PEOPLE living in Exmouth are being given the opportunity to have their collectables valued free of charge by a national firm of auctioneers.

Auctioneers Warwick and Warwick will be at the Devoncourt Hotel, 16 Douglas Avenue, Exmouth, on Friday June 5 from 9am until 1 pm.

The company has experts in coins and banknotes, stamps, medals, militaria, postcards, cigarette cards, die cast toys and models and model railways.

An auction house spokesperson said: "Many people do not realise that they have possessions of value, especially postcard collections, where the black and white real photographic views, can fetch from 5 to tens of pounds each - especially if there is a close up an early omnibus or a traction engine.

"Coin collections are also fetching high prices at present, especially those made of gold, the value of which has rocketed in recent months."

The auctioneers say that home visits may be possible if the collection is particularly large. Contact the auction house on (01926) 499031.
