EXMOUTH Coastwatch on Monday afternoon sprung into action when a boat with four fishermen onboard suffered engine failure a mile offshore.
Brixham coastguard contacted the Coastwatch officers in the seafront tower after receiving a message from those aboard the boat, Silver Mist, saying the vessel was in difficulty.
Exmouth Coastwatch spotted the vessel near number eight buoy and passed the location of the boat to the coastguards who sent an emergency 'Pan Pan' call to all nearby vessels.
The stricken vessel and its crew were picked up by passing commercial charter boat, Roseanne, who towed it back to its Exe Estuary mooring.
