A NINE-month-old dog which fell off a cliff at Ladram Bay was last week rescued by Exmouth coastguards.
A NINE-month-old dog which fell off a cliff at Ladram Bay was last week rescued by Exmouth coastguards.
Exmouth and Beer coastguards were atsked to Big Picket Rock after police received reports a member of the public had seen a dog fall from the cliff.
When the coastguard teams arrived they found the dog, called Fly, 20ft below the cliff top.
The pet dog was standing on a two-foot ledge, with a sheer drop of 200 feet below her.
A search was carried out to find the dog's owner, who was discovered at work.
A spokesperson for Portland Coastguard said: "The Beer coastguard rescue team along with part of the Exmouth coastguard rescue team set up their cliff rescue equipment to start the recovery.
"During this time, the owner was located, contacted and informed that his dog was over the cliff.
"The owner was at work, safe and well.
"Once the dog, a nine month old female called Fly, was recovered unharmed, she was reunited with her owner.
