AN Exmouth charity shop is asking customers and supporters to stand up for equality.

Scope, in Exeter Road, is asking people to sign its pledge to stamp out disability prejudice.

It is hoped the signatures will prompt people to stand up, be the voice of disabled people, and complain if they are not being treated fairly.

Scope spokesman Nick Mitchell said: "There has always been a great public spirit in Exmouth and by committing to fairness for local disabled people we are going to make it an even better place to live.

"This pledge is a great opportunity for people to put their support for disabled people's rights into action. We hope lots of people will encourage their family and friends to sign it too."

* The Scope shop is currently looking for good-quality clothes and bric-a-brac. Any donations can be dropped off at the shop directly.
