EXMOUTH businesses and residents can get a brand new superfast internet connection - if enough people vote for it.

BT has a program for rolling out next-generation fibre optic broadband across the country.

A website called The Race to Infinity gives the opportunity for users to vote for their particular area to be included.

So if you live in the Exmouth telephone exchange area (01395 numbers) and you would like to see the broadband coverage upgraded you can visit the website and cast your vote.

At the moment there have only been a few votes cast for the area, much of which has poor broadband reception.

Geoff Morris of Exmouth Residents’ Association, a supporter of superfast broadband said that better access would benefit the whole town.

“It is obviously of great benefit to many residents and businesses if we can get it early and would be an attraction for any businesses looking to move here.”
