EXMOUTH cadets will pull on their running shoes next month to raise much-needed funds for wounded servicemen and women.
On Sunday November 1, cadets from Exmouth Sea Cadet Corps (SCC), Exmouth Air Training Corps (ATC), Budleigh Army Cadet Force (ACF) and Lympstone Royal Marine's Volunteer Cadet Corps (RMVCC) will meet in Phear Park, Exmouth, for a fun run.
Around 100 cadets are expected to take part in the sponsored run to raise money for the Help 4 Heroes' campaign - a national charity set up to provide support and care for wounded servicemen and women returning from present day military conflicts.
Weather permitting, the fun run will start at 11 am from the grounds of No 299 Squadron, ATC.

Prize giving is expected to be at 12.15 pm. All cadets running will receive a medallion, and each cadet unit will receive an engraved cup.
The event is being organised by the Exmouth Lions Club, following the idea of a family fun run, floated by recently-retired Exmouth 531st Tribute Fund chairman, Lionel Howell.

A spokesman for the event said: "While the organisers will be delighted to see members of the public support the event, they would be grateful if spectators would respond to any reasonable request from marshals.
"In particular, it would be greatly appreciated if dog walkers would keep their pets under control for the duration of the event.
