EXMOUTH cadets are teaming up with fast-food chain McDonald's later this month in a bid to raise funds to aid sick children.

The St John cadets will on March 13 raise funds for the Ronald McDonald house charities.

The group will be carrying out a street collection and a litter pick in Exmouth.

This is the first year Exmouth McDonald's has staged such events.

A spokeswoman for the events said: "The charity raises funds to build houses and housing units closer to major hospitals so that parents with seriously ill children do not have to travel hundreds of miles to see them and do not have suffer in their cars or on camp beds at night.

"The charity allows these parents to have a home away from home, so they do not have added worry.
