Exmouth Business Awards 2018: event raises profile for the town’s ‘easily overlooked’ talent

Being involved in the Exmouth Business Awards can be rewarding for category sponsors hoping to support local industries they care about.
That’s the view of Mark Littlewood, Jaguar & Land Rover fleet and business development manger at Helston Garages, sponsor of this year’s Restaurant Bar and Café category.
Helston Garages is among the 25 largest automotive dealership groups in the UK, with 37 franchises serving the South West.
And local man Mark said he had a personal interest in the Exmouth’s hospitality offering.
He said: “I enjoy going out whenever possible with friends and family.
“I have lived in Exmouth for over 30 years and like most have seen lots of changes in this category in the town.
“I do, however, believe we now have one of the best choices we have had for a long time.”
Mark also believes the Exmouth Business Awards benefit the town by ‘bringing a sense of awareness to a bigger audience, and not just the business community’.
He added: “We have some great businesses that are in and around Exmouth that can be easily overlooked.”
The annual celebration of business excellence, sponsored by the Exmouth Journal, will take place at Exmouth’s Ocean on Friday, May 18.
And previous positive experiences at the awards mean Mark is looking forward to attending this year’s ceremony and cheering the shortlisted hopefuls on.
He said: “I was lucky enough to attend last year and very much enjoyed the evening – hence the reason for Sponsoring a category this year.
“It’s a great social evening on top of the business awards and it’s lovely to see how much it means to the winners.”
“I would like to wish good luck to all the entrants to the awards. Being nominated is praise enough, but wining would be the icing on the cake!”
The winner of the Restaurant Bar and Café category at the Exmouth Business Awards 2017 was The Grapevine Brewhouse, sponsored by Payroll 4 Business.
