A BUS company is launching a major drive to raise awareness to environmental issues.

Stagecoach which operates in Exmouth, its surrounding areas and across other parts of the country, launched a week-long drive to help Britain go green from May 31 to June 4.

The green week programme aimed to raise both employee and customer awareness.

Brian Souter, Stagecoach group chief executive, launching Green Week 2010, said: "We want to play our part in helping Britain go green.

"Going by bus and train can save people time and money - as well as cutting their carbon footprint.

"We hope Green Week will help highlight the benefits of greener, smarter travel and show what we are doing as a company to make our business more sustainable.
