Staff at an Exmouth bank raised £480 for a woman who lost her husband to pancreatic cancer in July 2014.

Cara Holland’s husband, Jim, was killed by the disease and she will be trekking across the Great Wall of China to raise awareness of Pancreatic Cancer UK.

She said: “I am very grateful for TSB in Exmouth for supporting me in my fundraising, plus also bringing awareness to the fantastic work that Pancreatic Cancer UK does.”

The staff at the Exmouth branch of TSB raised the cash by holding a fundraising day, which involved trekking on cross-trainers.

Rachael Clements, branch manager at TSB in Exmouth, said: “The team made a tremendous effort to make the day a success.

“We have really enjoyed our own trek and it is fantastic to know the difference that our efforts will have made.”

Pancreatic Cancer UK is the only charity in the country for the disease.

The charity runs a dedicated support line for disease sufferers, as well as funding research and campagining to increase awareness.

Cara is flying to China at the end of April and anyone wishing to donate can do so by visiting www.justgiving.com/cara-holland1
