An Exmouth tourist attraction has raised 500 for a charity supporting our injured troops.

Staff at The World of Country Life raised the cash for Help for Heroes following a special evening fundraiser that included steam engine rides, a deer safari, a barbeque and a high-energy play called ‘Smuggler’s Gold’.

The play was performed by The Common Players and supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Managing director of the park, Nigel Lee, said: “It was a very enjoyable evening.

“Our local area has very close links with the armed forces and we wanted to donate the proceeds of this event to Help for Heroes, which is an incredibly important and worthy charity.”
