The Strand was bathed in sunshine for the annual Armed Forces Day celebration on Saturday (June 29) in Exmouth.

The annual event, organised by the Royal Marines Association, was officially opened by town mayor councillor Steve Gazzard with community radio station Exmouth Air providing the music.

There were around 25 stalls on the day representing military charities such as SSAFA and The Pilgrim Bandits.

Organiser Dennis Gover said: "The Royal Marines did a sterling job with their weapons stands and a Land Rover made out to become a radio vehicle.

"It's not just about the marines though - Armed Forces Day is all about serving and retired members coming together to keep the public alive to all that they do."
