Exmouth and Topsham fire crews free man trapped in overturned car

Monday, August 11 - RESCUE equipment from Exmouth fire station was sent to the M5 motorway on Sunday morning after reports were received a person was trapped in an overturned car.

RESCUE equipment from Exmouth fire station was sent to the M5 motorway on Sunday morning after reports were received a person was trapped in an overturned car.

Fire crews from Topsham, Cullompton and Tiverton were sent to the busy road between Cullompton and Sowton, where they discovered a car was upside down on the motorway embankment and a man was severely trapped inside.

The fire crews used cutting equipment to free the casualty.

The man was airlifted to hospital by the air ambulance.
