Exmouth and Topsham fire crews attend fatal crash

EXMOUTH and Topsham fire crews were called to Exminster on Thursday night after a woman died when a black Honda car was involved in a collision on the A379 at Sannerville Way.

EXMOUTH and Topsham fire crews were called to Exminster on Thursday night after a woman died when a black Honda car was involved in a collision on the A379 at Sannerville Way.

The fire crews were called shortly before 9.30pm and cut free a man driving a Ford Mondeo.

He was taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital for treatment.

A woman driving a black Honda was pronounced dead at the scene.

She is yet to be named by police. Her next of kin have been informed.

The A379 road between the first Exminster turn off and the Swan's Nest roundabout was closed until 7am this morning.

The police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to contact them on 08452 777444 quoting log number 1201 6/11/8.
